TUNJI ADENIYI-JONES
Our 2022 Summer Show features several significant new acquisitions. One acquisition not to be missed is Pattern Makers by contemporary London-born artist Tunji Adeniyi-Jones (b. 1992). The artist explores shapes and bodies in motion, skilfully blending his British upbringing with his Yoruba heritage into his work. ‘Pattern Makers’ depicts two highly stylised figures, their smooth, fluid lines echoing those of Henri Matisse or Joan Miro yet also referencing classical West African folklore and the religious practices of Nigeria’s Yoruba traditions.

Of his work, Adeniyi-Jones says: 'There are thousands of different dialects spoken across West Africa but one of the most unifying languages is communicated through the body. This language of dance and performance transcends all cultural boundaries and my intention is to charge the bodies in my paintings with this same vigour.'
In 2020, Adeniyi-Jones was named a Forbes ‘30 Under 30 Artist’ and unsurprisingly has a growing following among the contemporary art world with his first major solo show taking place at Charleston, home of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, in September 2021.
SUMMER SHOW 2022
Our new Summer Show is now open, running to the end of August 2022 at our gallery on Maddox Street and also at Shapero Rare Books at 105 New Bond Street. A group selling show celebrating the brilliance and diversity of modern and contemporary printmaking, artists include Andy Warhol, Alex Katz, David Hockney, Jasper Johns, Frank Stella and Pablo Picasso.
